RE: Fuel Economy - smayo - 08-05-2012 09:07pm There are a lot of moans and groans about the mpg (and many other things). But if you are not interested then don't read them and move onto another topic. Whenever I read a topic I'm not intereted in then I have this overwhelming need not to say anything at all. Fuel Economy - 3V0QU3 - 08-05-2012 09:46pm Are there no laws that cover this? Trades descriptions act? Any experts? I had no reason to dispell the figures given to me by Volvo or Jaguar (previous vehicles) They were fairly accurate. I do think someones head should roll at LR though. It's an absolute disgrace that they can quote the figures they do and get away with their false advertising. I chose my SD4 over the Volvo XC60 due to the better fuel economy spec. A friend of mine who has the XC60 is claiming 48 MPG Average so not really impressed with LR PR machine. I do agree that the car should reach what the manufacturer claims. These cars that are tested are built for one thing and that is to get as good mpg as possible. RE: Fuel Economy - gw76 - 08-05-2012 10:08pm Youd never be able to exactly replicate the circumstances under which the 'official' mpg figures were obtained, trade desrcriptions or not, so they have a water tight get out clause. Not sure as LR have some bulls**t small print in the brochure somewhere. RE: Fuel Economy - THEMACS - 08-05-2012 10:10pm All this has been covered in the other thread, must it get regurgitated Again, Please someone see sense and LOCK THIS THREAD!!!! RE: Fuel Economy - J77 - 08-05-2012 10:15pm The bulls**t. Bottom of the page, they have themselves well covered. Overall I am not too concerned about mpg I'm happy with 35-40. RE: Fuel Economy - WorldTraveler - 09-05-2012 10:10am You could always hand your RRE back to the dealer for a week and "challange" them to obtain the figures they quoted you prior to your order ? |
