first 1500 km.....
average 36MPG is it the cold ? but that is far more than the promised number

I think I mentioned it in another part of this site, do not laugh but when the Skoda Yeti first came out it received rave reviews, and I went to look at them, I asked for a qote including a spare wheel and pano sunroof, the computer would not allow those two extras to be ordered together myself and dealer could not see the connection (they could get spare wheel in and fit as a dealer fit at no extra cost) the reason we later found out that the combined extra weight would alter the design figures quoted ie fuel consumption acceleration etc. To what extent I do not know but enough not to let them be added together. I ended up buying a new Freelander 2 with TD4 engine, which took a good 7k to 8k miles before it was near the quoted mpg.
It still early days with the Evoque so most of the talk of low mpg is on low milage cars, I would still be interested to see if weight of spare wheel and pano roof has any effect on consumption.

On order OG SD4 Prestige pano roof and spare wheel. Heated steering wheel, auto dipping mirror. Style 4 wheels

Got my ed4 today 48 miles on clock, on way home normal route and driving so 5 miles slow crawl, 20 miles b roads behind traffic and through 30mph villages and then on to A road for 20 mile high speed then back on to b roads slow drive 6 mile and got 46.9mpg overall.....so very pleased and similar to A5 sport back, but must admit was a little more peddle heavy in that
