Most of my stuff is ripped as WAV files, but wonder if the Meridian can play 24-bit audio streams up to 192 kHz (think DVDs can often have 24-bit 96kHz 5.1 streams) where CD standards are only up to 16-bit 44kHz.

Is there not a detailed specification on the audio capabilities for the Meridian (bit rates, sample frequency etc).

Does anyone know if you can add after market rear tv screens and control them from the front screen, or play DVD from USB to the rear screens ?

1) Can you control third party rear screens from the front?
2) Can you play films from USB stick to rear screens?
3) Is it worth ordering the in car rear entertainment from LR at £2200?

Thanks
Fam

Assume you have the upgrade 825W system (not sure on the default US sale options).

In our French Forum, French guys who have already received their own Evoque mention that DVD or DiVX files can't be read if you don't have the GPS option (which came with a Hard Drive)!!!

Any comment?

I have only seen Evoque with GPS, so I can't really comment on that, but why would you need a hard drive to play dvd's from a USB stick? The price list says "Meridian 380W system with mp3 compatibility and audio connectivity with dual USB port" whereas the GPS function says "hard drive satnav with hard disk which also doubles as an audio/video server for 10 cd's". Anyway if they already have their Evoque, I'm sure they're not making it up.

I just know that when they put video files either on a USB key or on a CD/DVD, it does not work. My feeling is that there is probably some software on the Hard disk coming with the GPS allowing to read video files... Wait and see

Hi, I haven't re-read the entire thread but just to clarify the Evoque will play your dvdsfrom the actual dvd or from a USB, which is accessed in the centre arm rest. It plays most file types. Just buy yourself and 8GB or 16GB USB and you'll be surprised how much you can get on. Cheers YT

Indeed I'm sure you don't need the hard disk itself, a dvd or a stick is fine, but apparently without satnav it doens't play from dvd / stick.
