RE: Australian Deliveries - benzina - 31-12-2011 01:31am

The reason i rebelled against the pano at the beginning was that i found out it did not open, and that was a big issue for me,otherwise an opening sunroof is always an absolute must for me,and is the first box i would normally tick.
Then after much deliberation, i decided it would be better to have a fixed pano, then nothing at all,so i went in and ordered the pano. No regrets, plus the delay may have given my car a chance to have the black roof painted in the re-introduced Santorini.

While i continue to wait for my car to appear on Topix, i have a couple of questions .....
(1) Does every single car that gets it's Vin number appear on Topix within the first few weeks of being completed?
(2) If for whatever reason my car does not appear, will my dealer know about Topix, and deem it important to find out whats gone wrong?

Benzina:

1. I'm 100% sure every VIN must appear on topix as this is where service information, software updates, known issues etc are reported and where dealers can find out about these things as well - not just customers. It should definitely appear on topix within the first 2 weeks of being completed. However given that it was christmas/boxing day and now new year - there may have been some delays in getting the information up onto topix - I imagine this week would be the week where information relating to your car definitely appears on topix.

2. If it does not appear on topix - call James and ask him what the status is and let him know it still does not appear on topix - and that you would be very interested to know when it is getting shipped out etc etc or if there have been any issues at all. Ideally it should appear on topix.

Have you tried searching the vin on here? http://www.2wglobal.com/www/customerCentre/cargoTrackingLaunchPage.htm and then in the "Cargo ID" box, type in your full VIN number. This might tell you if it has at least been delivered to southampton - which may help with figuring out what the status of your car is. WOrth the try!

e.g. SALVA1AG9CH605606 is a full VIN number (a VIN obtained from one of the cars on carpoint).

Thanks Chiggy. Yeah i did try this.....

Chiggy quote "'Have you tried searching the vin on here? http://www.2wglobal.com/www/customerCent...chPage.htm and then in the "Cargo ID" box, type in your full VIN number. ......but came up with nothing. And like you have done,i've also done some experimenting with Vin numbers from Carpoint on Vista, and on the shipping website, just to see what i should expect. (i like it, very impressive!)
Now that the xmas / New year holidays are over, hopefully i'll see it come up on Vista by weeks end. Cheers hey Very Happy

First post (although been lurking for some time). Excellent site, by the way.

Given that I've gotten some great information from people on this site, I thought I might post details provided by my LR dealer today so that others with outstanding orders may gauge expected delivery times to Australia.

Order date: 12 November 2011
Confirmed build date: 10 February 2012
Expected delivery date: Mid April 2012

One other piece of good news. When I ordered my car, I ordered the rear camera and was told that I did not need to order the front sensors as well (and hence did not do so). However, this turned out to be wrong as, in Australia, the front sensors must be ordered with the rear camera. When querying this today, the dealer confirmed that front sensors were confirmed on my build and that they would not be charging me for it (a $620 saving). Woop!

Congratulations mate.. nice specced car. where did you buy it from?

Re: Australian Deliveries - JoBro - 05-01-2012 11:26pm

Blah just spoke with my dealer and they said that the car has been pushed back till the 28th may when it was due on the 30th Jan with and expected build date of the 2nd of March.

I asked why and they said all the tech components were on back order. (Adaptive Dynamic Suspension, Panoramic Roof, Tyre Pressure Monitor, Garage Door Opener, etc)

Asked if they offer any kind of compensation for these kind of delays and was told no.

I guess the wait continues and I ordered early August last year......

Melb City LR.

I visited all three dealers in Melbourne prior to cars becoming available for test drives in Nov. Melb City were the quickest to respond once the test drive cars were in and they also gave me the best price (even though I know Melb City and ULR Malvern are owned by the same company). Lance Dixon didn't even call me back.

Bought mine through Melb City as well... a friend who had recently bought a RR here (not an evoque) reffered me to his salesman... and so far i have been very happy with the service i have received... However i did go to lance dixon as well... lance dixon seemed very uninterested.. i left them all my details and they never got back to me

WOW!

good to hear some positive response.. I personally had shit experience with MLR - LD same as you didn't bother calling.. ULR Malvern were great! In fact, I am in the middle of writing an official complaint to Land Rover regarding MLR.

To be completely Honest - I haven't experienced a good or marginally good service from any of the dealers at Land Rover - they all seem crap.

I've had great service from Merc's and BMW's but shit from LR. if only it wasn't for their product - i would have surely looked elsewhere.
