RE: Australian Deliveries - spif888 - 29-12-2011 01:58pm Signed up today and have also developed an OCD regarding the delivery of my Evoque. My Evoque is on the Toscana and is due to dock in Brisbane on the 17 January 2012. I phoned Austral and have been told that it can take up to 2 weeks to get the car ready for delivery. In other words I should get the car at the end of January- exactly the the date promised to me in September when I put down my deposit. Holding thumbs. According to Topix the car was built on the 24 November and according to the shipping company it left Southhampton on the 4 December. Anyway, I will keep the forum up to date on when delivery takes place. RE: Australian Deliveries - benzina - 29-12-2011 02:28pm Mine has'nt even come up on topix yet. It's just hard to ignore,as i can't quite grasp why mine was delayed (paid deposit and ordered 3rd August), when others with similar SD4's who ordered later, are getting their cars sooner. My patience is good, cause it seems to be the story of my life, but i'm just curious as to why, and what system LR used to pluck cars out for build . ![]() P.S. Still happy for those who get their Evoque sooner though, and it is said, good things come to those who wait.....i can't complain ![]() Australian Deliveries - chiggy - 29-12-2011 03:23pm According to that tracking website mine just says loaded and I checked the vin of cars on carpoint and they have the same description. I'm hoping this means mine is on the ship. RE: Australian Deliveries - Evoque U - 29-12-2011 11:16pm Hey Benzina, it could all come down to the dealer allocation. RE: Australian Deliveries - benzina - 30-12-2011 01:28am (29-12-2011 11:16pm)Evoque U Wrote: Hey Benzina, it could all come down to the dealer allocation. Yeah i had thought of that, but i was only the 5th person to have ordered at the time, and this is the main LR dealer of Perth. I wonder...does adding an option during the holding pool period, alter, and set you further back in the waiting line? I say this, because i did add the Pano roof on the 1st November, and although Vista was still showing my car in the holding pool,it was schedualed for a mid-November build,so the thinking was, that i had got it in just in time. Australian Deliveries - chiggy - 30-12-2011 02:12am Benzina I think it was cause of the SD4 engine. My guess is that it's the most popular engine throughout the world - the most sold at least. I read somewhere that there was a shortage of the sd4 engines just slightly and I have a feeling that's why some of the td4 engines went into build - guessing yours was just slightly delayed as they may have been waiting on the engine. Pm messGe your vin number to me and maybe I can try having a look on topix and also the tracking website? Don't worry it doesn't give customer details out. Only vista does do I won't be able to find out anything personal. RE: Australian Deliveries - benzina - 30-12-2011 04:40am Ah thanks chiggy,it's o.k. though,as it's still only 8 days since Vin. If it has'nt turned up on Topix by this time next week, then i'm going into the dealer. About the SD4 engine shortage theory, i thought of that too, until i saw examples of these being ordered later, and they are getting them sooner. Here's one example posted by andrewcui on 8/12/11,and i quote.... ''I placed my order early Nov.. was told build would be in Jan for delievery late March or early April to Melbourne, Australia. I email my dealer today to see if there was any updates and he said he had some good news... my car is starting to get built in 4 days! He said should be delivered sometime in Feb.. latest will be early March. That is all the info i have so far... Anyone know how long it actually takes to build a car? My spec is: Dynamic SD4, Auto, Pano roof, front sensors, rear camera, privacy glass, 20" style 6, metallic paint '' I still think they put mine back a month, cause i was late coming into with the Pano roof (1st nov) , and that maybe some shortages with these,or just simply cause i made a late change, and i was punished. Thats seems to be the best i've got so far anyway. Australian Deliveries - chiggy - 30-12-2011 10:57am Ahhh the shortage of pano roofs would definitely be it. From what I understand, If you make late changes to your order they dont prioritize those parts you have added onto cars ordered earlier. It's to do with demand and allocation of parts, so if someone had a pano roof but they ordered theirs after you but before u made the change, LR doesn't take it off theirs and put it on yours. Unless I'm completely mistaken. RE: Australian Deliveries - benzina - 30-12-2011 12:07pm Yep,it just sounds logical....unless a better reason comes along, lets go with that anyway, this way i can blame myself for that late pano change, and thats much easier to take. Their i was thinking i'd commit nice and early in August,to assure myself of that old first in first served basis thing, and all going to plan, only to be tripped up on the last hurdle by the unexpected. ![]() Australian Deliveries - chiggy - 30-12-2011 02:39pm Haha! I'm sure you would've regretted not getting the pano roof and given that our weather is awesome 70% of the year round. Pano roof was a must. The extra wait makes it well worth it! |
