Hi Hosta,

1. Build date - only an estimate was provided by my dealer
2. Topix can provide information about you car. I registered and with my VIN I could see the build date and my actual specs. It shows that what specs your car is built too. Google topix land rover or search on the forum for the website.
3. Vista - not sure, but believe it is the Land Rover system for dealers which provides the order and confirmation of build (can anyone confirm).

What's on your order?

Fuji White TD4, Tech pack, rear vents. everything else standard, will be upgrading the 19" wheels to 22".

Just getting a bit nervous with delivery dates as some of the ppl on this thread seem to have been delayed quite frequently ETA.

Thanks Barneyridge. I'll be calling them first thing tomorrow morning to see if i can get a firmer build date.

I assume that I can't use Topix yet as I haven't had the car built yet. Specified with dealer that I wanted a FY12 build car so that I assured me that I will get a Jan built / Apr delivered vehicle.

Hi Hosta,

The way dealers have been explaining it to me is :

They take our orders.
These are then submitted on the system to LR as a request (my dealer gave me the print out of my order with 2 pages of details and specs as submitted to LR - this might be the Vista system people are referring to?)
All these orders are then held in a "pool" awaiting a build slot to be made available.
Each dealer is only allocated a limited number of build slots in each months production run.

I have been nagging my dealer, and he knew to ring me as soon as he had been allocated a confirmed build slot for my car.

However as you can imagine, factories get behind, parts run out, so this confirmed build date can and does seem to change quite often. My dealer mentioned the factory was still experiencing shortages in 17" and 18" wheels, sunroofs, and xenon headlights. (none of which are in my build, hence i might have "jumped the queue" so to speak)

Once it goes into build, some dealers seem really good at passing on VIN's. Which using topix and the shipping companies website , you can confirm your specs and even see what ship your car is on, and what date it arrives into port.

The most helpful part of this forum i find is the Search function. You can search for any word in any post. Hence a quick search for Topix, etc will turn up some really useful information.

Welcome to the club Smile

Any news benzina? Has yours appeared on topix?

RE: Australian Deliveries - benzina - 28-12-2011 05:04am

No , not yet Chiggy.....and i have checked every day (morning & night),since i got that Vin. I will unashamably continue obsessively until it shows up,and then i will definately post the good news.
Tomorrow will be 7th day since Vin, and i've read of others taking about this time to show on Topix, but the fact that mine is crossing over the xmas - new year time, might make it delay more then usual,i don't know.

RE: Australian Deliveries - andrewcui - 29-12-2011 08:49am

Update!

My car is in topix... topix says build date was 15/12/11
I looked on the shipping site and the last entry says:
RETURNED TO SHIPPER SOUTHAMPTON 18-12-2011 17:42:00

So i dont know if my car is on this boat or not? If it is in this boat is is scheduled to arrive in melbourne on 23/1/12
I tried finding the ship on http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/ but i couldn't find it

Anyway we will see what happens...

RE: Australian Deliveries - MPK - 29-12-2011 10:47am

Andrewcui,

Don't worry too much about the status of "Returned to Shipper". Mine changed to this status and all what it means is that the planned shipment was too full and that it would be placed on the next available shipment. Mine was loaded about 5-6 days later. LR certainly needs to change the status description! The delivery times will change (and will be updated online) when the next ship has been allocated.

Cheers,
PK

Australian Deliveries - chiggy - 29-12-2011 11:59am

Andrewcui. If the ship name you're looking for is "tiger" it's off the west coast of Africa at the moment and my car is on there. The status of mine says it was loaded on the ship and is due to arrive in Fremantle on 17th January.

I believe tiger left Southampton on 18th December without issues. It was last on marine traffic 3 days ago and I expect it should checkin again in another day or so.

RE: Australian Deliveries - andrewcui - 29-12-2011 01:47pm

Hi Chiggy. Yes my car is meant to be on Tiger too! however I got the 'RETURNED TO SHIPPER' message.

I'll see what it updates with in the next couple of days
