Didn't even realise it was a feature. Just thought it was the seat returning to its neutral position, from the seat memory position when the ignition is switched off.

However I shut down, the seat doesn't lower before I open the door.

Mine only lowers as I open the door.

you can enable/disable it in the dash menu Thumbs Up

I know, this is an answer on "when does it lower?"
