LR Assist came out- they had recovered a similar car with same problem two days prior

Got car back from dealer today- told EGR valve has been adjusted together with a software update- I will see if its cured.

Hello Gjh0702,
yes there is a bulletin at topix which describes this issue (LTB00831).
I got also an software update from the dealer two weeks ago and the strange behaviour disappeared.
Hope this lasts longer...

Mine is in the shop now. Dealer says it could be the EGR valve, but has driven three other Evoques they all have the same noise. His conclusion - it is what it is. He said they can not fix/adjust it.

Gave the bulletin number to the Dealer, he said they already checked that but in my case thats not it and that they updated the software.

After two days at the dealership the LR Service concluded that the noise i am hearing is not a fault and is apparent in two other Evoques. They have applied the PCM Software update apparently as per above bulletin LTB00831.

Driving home the noise is apparent as it ever was.

RE: Wheel spin type noise - Lvoque - 22-02-2017 10:25am

I encountered spinning noise during acceleration(especially during up hill and out from tight corners)and lost of power. Turn out to be a minor tear on the air intake pipe that connect to the engine(black simi-flexible pipe). My assumption: the air delivery to engine during first acceleration has the highest pressure(with the turbo kicking in). The pressure was enough to push/escape throught the tear, causing lost of power and the wheel noise. My wheel sound as actually the turbo pressure escaping through the tear. After numbers of encounter, the dash shows "restricted performance". I had my dealer change the pipe. Now 2months after the service, the car drive just fine. Hope this help.
