scottlw, If you make 2 more posts then you can PM me an e-mail address and I can send you some instructions/info etc,
It's 3 wires to connect which you get scotchlocks for in the kit, access is only needed into the Tailgate, which the panel removes quite easily with clips (that don't break when you detach them, well I haven't broken one yet!).
Once fitted the remote and dash button work as before but they also activate the close command when the tailgate is open.

I received one of Doug's kits yesterday - had it installed in about 10 minutes. It comes with instructions and is really simple. He provides the wire clamps clip on the existing wires to make it easy should you ever need or want to remove the unit. No idea why this wasn't a factory installed feature.
It's great to be able to close the rear door from the button inside by the drivers leg or from the key fob.

Perhaps the decision by Land Rover to not have the tailgate close from the switch inside the car was what they considered a safety issue – incase an unsupervised small child or even the neighbor's cat might be in the space and become locked in the car.

I think in the States that may once have been a concern so far as federal regulations. Hard to keep track, honestly.

I am expecting my new Evoque anytime now? Ordered in July first promise 23rd Oct 2015. I have been given an April 2015 Evoque until the car turns up. I also find annoying/unbelievable that the electric tailgate cannot be closed from the inside!!
An earlier post suggest that on the new model it will have the inside car tailgate close feature - does anybody know if this will be the case?

If this thread isn't completely dead, I was wondering if Doug's modification would work on a 2012 RRS SC. Just bought the rig and the inability to shut the tailgate from inside the cockpit is a bit frustrating :0)
