I can already if i wish have camera on all the time ( not a fan of that) but looking for a way to capture if possible/ easy to do so

I have the Blackvue in mine. You don't need the rear socket as the rear camera plugs into the front which is hard wired direct to the power supply (via an addidional box) for 24 hour monitoring if you want that.

Rear socket powers off when you turn car off so useless if you wanted anything to work when the car is not running.
