I might be interested as well dependant upon price

Price?!

I know it's seems a pain, but if 'sales' are to proceed then please contact site owner Martin to get agreement.

yep agreed should contact Martin to make sure he's OK with this but if so I would probably be up for it, price dependent. Have had a quick look at the instructions and they don't seem too hard at first glance. I think I would probably buy it and then wait til my warranty runs out (in a year!) before installing it though. Either that or it would be installed the first time I get bored (probably also in a year given how much work I have to catch up on!)

Neat solution. I'm moving on from my Evoque but I expect the design is the same on the RRS, a worthwhile enhancement for sure.

How do you power the circuit because it has to continue working after the release motor has switched off, or do you do something clever like charging a capacitor through a diode from the motor while it's running to give you enough power for a few seconds?

As I say, a neat solution Thumbs Up

You have it.

Power comes from the latch release motor (through a tilt switch so it doesn't function when closed)
I did use an R\C circuit and diode to keep it picked up for the quarter second or so delay that was required for proper operation....

I replicated Doug's ideas yesterday and it certainly works so kudos to him and, no, I will not be making them here. If you want one, you'll need to negotiate with him!

Good job, Doug! Job #1 for me when I get my RRS is to do the same.

Interestingly, I've now heard from someone with the new RRS that the remote and inside button do close the rear hatch, so LR have obviously listened to reason...

Dougrobling, any chance you could email me full details plus your videos.
