One reason I decided against the electric tailgate on my second Evoque was accidental opening. One of my customers did that on his Cayenne & hit the garage door.

The one in the car wash fire - what happened there? Not many folk around either & why didn't the owner as soon as he saw the flames blast it with water rather than getting bits out the boot lol?

May be the car wash guy thought it was a 'not quite' legitimate way to upgrade to a MY14 LOL

The Evoque tailgate has a sensor which stops it opening if there is something in the way.

A 'pre' sensor or an 'oops it's already too late' sensor?

Pre, if I am reading the my14 manual right.

Obviously not going to stop you if the tailgate is already open and you reverse into a low overhang Smile
