Has the cover melted all the way through, or is the hole just on the inside (or even just the exterior)?

It does look like it's followed in a line, which could suggest sunlight focused through some glass over time, could that have happened where it was parked? as since the cover is burnt it most likely would have happened externally.

The cover did not actually burned, just melted and hardened and breakable.
The damage of the cover is just one side and 4cm×8cm, smaller than the damage of the bumper and wing which is start from just above wheel arch through fog light.
The dealer said that the fog also distorted a little bit.
Yes I am almost convinced that the damage was caused by light.
If it were so, no vandalisms, no faults of car itself. This will relief me a bit anyway.

When I saw it, it has no hole, actually seemed became thin and hardened.
When I touched it, it fell apart like thin ice on the cold water.
