Which GTechniq product was that & how long has it been on the wheels? RE: Fabulous Alloy Wheel Cleaner - Evo-king - 04-02-2013 12:01am From what I can remember it was C1, and was applied by my detailer in the 1st week of May last year. RE: Fabulous Alloy Wheel Cleaner - doug - 04-02-2013 12:11am I applied C5 (it's the same as C1 or C4) last December & it's now started to fail. It's meant to last a year which it has ![]() RE: Fabulous Alloy Wheel Cleaner - The Valeter - 04-02-2013 12:22am (04-02-2013 12:11am)doug Wrote: I applied C5 (it's the same as C1 or C4) last December & it's now started to fail. Plastic trim But all three are the same product, sold in the same sizes & cost the same RE: Fabulous Alloy Wheel Cleaner - The Valeter - 04-02-2013 12:57am (04-02-2013 12:26am)doug Wrote: C1. Paint Defies logic, so why not just have one product - does all? I emailed Gteqnic earlier for a recomendation of products for new cars as I may give it a go on my new Evoque & I said in the email I am not convinced why one would want to put stuff on interior plastics? I have never done this to any of my cars & my Rover 25 & MG ZR-Express still look the same inside (Dash plastics etc) as the day I bought them both new - the MG in March 2005 & the Rover in March 2006. For pale interior plastics the C6 product is a matte protective layer which makes it easier to clean any marks off. I also use the L1 on my very pale cirrus seats. The C4 is for exterior plastics and is a permanent trim protector - it has the effect of not allowing the dirt to completely stick to the plastics. It also gives a very nice finish without adding any gloss. I had all the GTechniq products on my first evoque and am having the new one done this week. You're right about the naming and other "similar" products such as CQuartz market themselves as suitable for paint, wheels, plastics (and in some cases glass) all out of the same bottle. GTechniq market their product differently. If you PM me I can put you in touch with the owner of Gtechniq who can set you up with a discount if you don't have one already.
