RE: Lack of Postcodes on the NAV - PhilSkill - 31-12-2012 09:02pm Thanks James I can sort of understand but I would have thought it would give all the options that were available, e.g. HP2 7XZ HP22 5GH Type in HP2, options available include 2 and 7, Type in 7 and X becomes available (HP27) or Type in 2 again and 5 will be available. (HP22) Seems silly to sometimes need a space, I assume if you always type in a space it will still accept it as otherwise how do you know when to use a space and when not? RE: Lack of Postcodes on the NAV - Straydox - 01-01-2013 12:41pm I think it's poor software design really. Those of us who have come from Audi vehicles will know that their MMI system had a neat way of quickly filtering post codes correctly but that said the whole navigation system was vastly superior. Maybe LR need a trip to Germany to visit Harman-Becker...and get the job done properly. Have a look at this Youtube video clip... LR are a long way off where a premium brand should be these days. RE: Lack of Postcodes on the NAV - PhilSkill - 01-01-2013 09:27pm I tried adding the space today and it worked thanks Straydox, I guess it explains why I had this occur so frequently over Christmas and now know how to get around it when required, but agree as much as I like the NAV there is some serious room for improvement! RE: Lack of Postcodes on the NAV - doug - 02-01-2013 11:39am Audi's sat-nav system is no good if you only have the post code, as it brings up a list of streets/roads for you to pick from after you have added the first part of the post code. RE: Lack of Postcodes on the NAV - solved - use space if neccesary - scrannel - 02-02-2013 03:21pm Navteq USA site lists a needed update for 2012 and earlier. Shows 2013 to be current. According to those who have done it, it takes 2 hours. Car must be running. |
