RE: gTechniq Clearview G1 - kevoque - 28-10-2012 09:50pm Yes only one coat on the roof is sufficient as the rain will just bead and fall ! Just use autobrite repel for the side windows its also good and cheaper and bigger bottle and keep the G1 for the front !! RE: gTechniq Clearview G1 - WB - 28-10-2012 11:11pm Rob from Gtechniq recommended using the G3 (now called G5) for the pano roof (1 coat) - it's got better repellency and lower longevity than G1 but its quite a lot cheaper and because there are no wipers involved the longevity shouldn't be an issue. It's lasted well on mine and I think only now (a year later) it might be ready for another coat. RE: gTechniq Clearview G1 - PhilSkill - 28-10-2012 11:27pm Cheers WB, had looked at that, but was torn between the G1 large bottle which was very expensive (and now out of stock since fire) and cheaper G5... so may go G5 for the roof as likely to use up 2 G1's, on 2 windsceens and the stuff i've already tried, see how it goes. RE: gTechniq Clearview G1 - PhilSkill - 29-10-2012 02:50pm Was loving the water just falling away off the windows as I drove out of the drive this morning... Nice patterns on the rear window as the beads rolled away and water fell back off the roof. RE: gTechniq Clearview G1 - PhilSkill - 31-10-2012 06:59pm Rear wiper has started skipping over the surface, will try G-Wash to clean it and screen wash to lubricate... RE: gTechniq Clearview G1 - PhilSkill - 03-11-2012 05:19pm Today I applied G1 to the rear sides and rear windows of the Evoque as very impressed with G1 performance in this area on the Mazda, and dared to put 3 coats of it on the windscreen of the Mazda... cleaned wipers with G-Wash and applied some screen wash directly to the wipers... we shall see... All of the above amounts to the end of 1 15ml bottle of G1 and a tiny amount of the G2 left. G5 on order for the roof. [attachment=3130][attachment=3131] RE: gTechniq Clearview G1 - Evo-king - 10-12-2012 10:46pm I have Exo on the roof, it has looked frozen on a couple of occasions, but I have paid more attention to my sons car who has had all of his glass treated with Clearview G1, whilst the other cars on the drive seem to have frozen glass, his car doesn't. I can only assume this stuff works, maybe I'll treat the car with it in the spring, I thought it might be too cold to apply now. |
