RE: What's included in a first service? - ADZ - 01-08-2012 08:11am My car came with a maintenance plan - thus ''free'' services until 5 years or 100 000kms. Thought it was the same all over. Guess not. My first service is only due at 26 000km which is pretty great. Shame - that's quite hectic that you have to pay! RE: What's included in a first service? - DefLeppard - 01-08-2012 08:55am mine too came on the "Corporate" plan - 3 years or 100,000kms free servicing. How is it possible to charge £500 for an oil change? Have they got lawyers servicing our cars? I would have thought its no more than 2 hours work and even at the extortionate hourly rates they charge how could it possibly come to £500? I might just stay and watch them do the service. I would have thought that the European law enabling us to maintain warranty without using franchised dealers (while using genuine parts) would have forced the dealer network to be more competitive RE: What's included in a first service? - jonty - 01-08-2012 12:29pm My first service was £275 + VAT which I didn't think was outrageous RE: What's included in a first service? - PhilSkill - 01-08-2012 01:15pm (01-08-2012 12:29pm)jonty Wrote: My first service was £275 + VAT which I didn't think was outrageous That's how much we get ripped off in the south... I would be happy at £275, as that's what i'd be expecting as reasonable increase after my experiences with Mazda which ranged from £180 to £250 (petrol) depending on what things done (more expensive changed spark plugs and brake fluid). The Plan I was offered for 3-7 years would have put the yearly cost at £475 for 3 years and slightly cheaper for longer... I didn't take the plan... Will be carefully considering quotes when it comes to it. RE: What's included in a first service? - rhysadams - 01-08-2012 01:32pm What are the service intervals on the Evoque? RE: What's included in a first service? - PhilSkill - 01-08-2012 02:04pm 1 Year or 16000 miles in UK. RE: What's included in a first service? - mark_n - 01-08-2012 02:06pm Once a year of every 16k miles I think. I assume the Service Plans others are writing about do not include such things as brake discs, brake pads and tyres? My car came with a offer of free MOTs which is a thinly disguised attempt to keep you in the dealer network for servicing after 3 years. As for the first service, I don't expect it's much more than oil and filter plusza quick look at the brake pads and discs. Most important for those with early cars is the possibility of software updates... What's included in a first service? - Jai - 01-08-2012 02:12pm My dealer told me AUD850+ for all services!!!
