So if the glovebox is of unnacceptable quality - why? Does yours not fit properly, does it rattle? Is it just that the construction is simple and not weighty like the German cars?
I'd say it is functional and acceptable.

I have had audi and BMW for the last 15 years and loved the quality trim. The only thing about the glovebox lid is that it feels too light and clicks rather than cluncks when closing. Other than that mine feels pretty good, not Audi quality but then no other maker is that good at the moment

Because it is made from the Crudest Cheapest Plastic I have EVER seen on a car!!! Simple as That, Nothing More Nothing Less, if you like that kind of stuff, then Good Luck To You Sir!!

I agree the glovebox doesn't feel sturdy, but there is no noise coming from it either. It will probably fall apart if you open it 50 times a day, but I open it maybe once a week and the extra compartment for documents is just fabulous. I need those papers once a year, and I will not have to search for them when needed.

The roof is not sturdy and flexes when i wash it, a piece of trim on the side of the car feels loose and rattles when i wash it, the fuel economy is rubbish. There is no trim around the seat belt anchor. The seat belt hieght does not adjust.

Obviously you have never driven a Chrysler rental car in America. Truly awefull materials inside. It made an LR defender seem like a quality product

I guess you didn't opt for the Pano roof then? The standard roof is made out of aluminum I believe and is enginneered to be light weight. The seat belts are height adjustable - thought that was standard on all models - not on yours?
Which model/spec did you buy?
Which bit of trim rattles when you wash it - I'll check mine when I know... I'm getting just under 41mpg from an SD4 manual @ 1600 miles - I'm happy with that to be honest.
So if you could have your money back what would you buy as an alternative?
