RE: How I wished I had this sunroof! - benzina - 24-05-2012 01:57am My 20 year old Mercedes-Benz 300CE-24 slide and tilt steel sunroof has never leaked or rattled, and the power operation to this day, is as smoooooooth and quiet as the day it was new. This was German over-engineering at it's best. RE: How I wished I had this sunroof! - jitenc - 24-05-2012 06:46am I don't think rattles and leaks are a problem these days.... MB, VWs or BMWs won't be hit sellers otherwise.... I love sunroofs as they partly keep: 1.the wind noise from the 'Dumbo'wing mirrors down, 2. traffic noise out, 3. pollution from other cars' exhausts down. It's always pleasant to see the open sky. The only downside was that the sun used to shine right on my bald patch, which was the case in my old BMW with a large sunroof... RE: How I wished I had this sunroof! - PhilSkill - 25-05-2012 09:40am My Mazda Sunroof works beautifully after 8 years and no rattles or leaks! Good job though as the Air-Con has leaked all it's gas again Do like being able to open the roof, let out the heat.. get the sun on your face and leave it tilted open in secure locations to avoid a bit of the heat build up during the day. |
