I would have thought so to but dealer obviously didn't want the hassle. To be fair the Honda dealership is 400 miles away Stevie RE: We want any car.com? - broady43 - 18-03-2012 10:06pm (18-03-2012 09:07pm)steviep Wrote: I think as long as you detail every scratch/dent etc no matter how small then you should be ok. Altho they took £200 off my father in laws price because his mileage was too low and their system couldn't price it right. My car is a Honda and Stratstone who I am dealing with also deal in Honda offered me £500 less than Marshalls who I am not even buying a car from! RE: We want any car.com? - WB - 18-03-2012 10:43pm Come on guys - its not hard to sell a car privately and you'll probably make 50-100% more if you sell the car on eBay (classified ads rather than auction. Webuy any car and the likes can only stay in business by massively under valuing cars - dealers tend to under price because they don't really want the trade in. If its a desirable car they'll usually give a reasonable valuation. I can't be bothered with the stress of selling privately, any way it helps the economy! RE: We want any car.com? - Daigriff - 19-03-2012 12:11am I've always sold privately, yes it's a bit of hassle but it's the only way of getting top dollar. I didn't even bother asking for a part ex price as I knew it would be garbage. In which case I can offer to reduce your stress even further. I'll pay to have the car collected from you and you won't have to deal with all this trade-in, webuy anycar nonsense... We wouldn't be in the economic times we are in if people were a bit more savvy with their cash... Based on my experiences this time around I will not be selling privately again in a big hurry. The amount of tire kickers, fraudsters, and insults I have had to contend with this time around has been unbelievable. RE: We want any car.com? - broady43 - 19-03-2012 07:31pm Spoke to the dealer today and got another £500 pounds out of him for part ex if I promised to buy pureguard. It makes both of us happy and less stress for me RE: We want any car.com? - ED209 - 19-03-2012 09:21pm (19-03-2012 07:31pm)broady43 Wrote: Spoke to the dealer today and got another £500 pounds out of him for part ex if I promised to buy pureguard. It makes both of us happy and less stress for me so he is giving you £500 with one hand, then taking it back with another?? doesnt really sound very fair to me. He will win though because he will get his own extra personal comission on selling you the pureguard where as if he just gave you £500 less he would just get his standard comission.
