I thought DLR's and the signature LED'S were the same thing. Is that not the case?
I'm thinking the same as paulus599 are they not the same?

Yes your right. A Pure without the Xenon option, just has standard side light builds as running lights. All the evoque's with Xenon's have the LED running lights.

From next year all UK new cars have to have them by law. Some countries have had that law for years.

Yes I know. But what's the point of them

Safety

I just don't get it. They think by having them running lights would make it safer. Why not just turn the headlights on. Or open ur eyes, there's a 1.5 tonne car coming towards you. If you can't see that mass hive car I don't think tiny twinkle lights will help

Partially agree and also make sure u look ouit for those motorbikes that u will no longer see 'standing out' from all the cars headlights. Oh, and another thing, don't forget that these are special leds that use no power (I know its only small) in this time of power saving

DRL's became compulsory by EU law from Feb 2011 on all new types of car which is why the Evoque has them. it does not apply to cars that are currently in production although quite a few already have them e.g. Audi, BMW.

Hope that hekps clear up the reason for them.
Cheers

@Griff - but what about the pure with std halogen - I was told at London live that it doesn't have them?!

I understood that the pure will use the standard sidelights (bulbs) as DLR's, i.e. that they will turn on automatically when the car is started (as Volvo's have been for many years).

@paulus599 - makes sense (yet again, cr@p knowledge by LR marketing guys)
