There's no regulations to the rear headrests. Only the front headsets have requirements. My Lexus had small headrests in the back.
Can I get a pic of the seats forward facing instead of side view?

(1) Except as provided in S4.2.1(b)(2) of this section, when measured in accordance with S5.2.1(b)(1) of this section, the top of a head restraint located in an outboard designated seating position must have a height not less than 750 mm in any position of adjustment.
(2) Exception. The requirements of S4.2.1(b)(1) do not apply if the interior surface of the vehicle at the roofline or the interior surface of the backlight physically prevent a head restraint, located in the rear outboard designated seating position, from attaining the required height. In those instances in which this head restraint cannot attain the required height, when measured in accordance with S5.2.1(b)(2), the maximum vertical distance between the top of the head restraint and the interior surface of the vehicle at the roofline or the interior surface of the backlight must not exceed 50 mm for convertibles and 25 mm for all other vehicles.

If the 750mm is measured from the apex of the seat, where the backrest joins the seat-pad, then this is not the reason for the view-blocker headrests.
Besides, there are different regulations for US, Canada, South America and Nanuvut, (which is the second largest country in the world, and likely the richest in natural resources).
So, why would shipments over here have these view-blockers? Also, why would they have different headrests in different models (dynamic and coupe models have low-profile headrests)?
The US interior options, as listed on the US Evoque web site here show the safer, low-profile headrests, which match the (non-optional) center headrest.

There is a mystery here. Why would LandRover include stylistically non-congruent, rear-view-compromising, seat-fold-down-restricting, butt-ugly-great-goombahs ... unless they had a boatload of these things left over from a parts sale in India...?

Well, it is definately something to look into for us guys in the US. I personally don't carry alot of passengers and would like the European style headrests better for providing alittle more rear visability. Should be an easy switch.
