Would you recommend the same settings on the 825w system?

Ali.

@ali: I haven't had the chance to play around with a 825W system so I can't say.

@cjfp: centered but slightly to the back if I remember correctly. I'll post a picture this afternoon.

i have the 825W system and tried those settings today with the surround turned off, and it basically gave a similar eq to the what could be heard with the surround processing on. you would just need to play with the balance and fade to suit the sound for you.
i am normally a purist when it come to the sound, but i really like what the surround processing does, and it does stand out on well produced tracks, so i think i will be keeping it on.

Great recommendation

I have to say I was wasn't sure how it would end up, I had made my own and thought that it sounded good, I ended up with the bass higher and sub woofer lower

I have copied your settings and the sound system does sound great now

Thanks for your ears, really good tip Very Happy

Whatever the settings used, which are a matter of taste and sometimes determined by the source material or bitrate, never rip or store files at any compression - hard drive storage is cheap as chips.

When ripping never rip to anything less than uncompressed .WAV or .AIFF files (the Apple equivalent) - that's the format used in professional studios. You can't get the info back once you've burnt the file to disk or downloaded at a low bit rate. You owe it to your system to feed it the best source material possible.

True, I'm only talking about cd's or HDD copies here. But even then the Meridian system is more biased than I would have expected and definitely needs tweaking.

Thanks vision*R, i tried the setting and quite liked it!

I had previously set the treble high but i think your settings makes the music sound a lot more natural.

funnily enough my dealer actually set it to this exact setting with the fader to just slightly behind the driver i.e. towards the middle of the car during handover...

sounds great!
