I asked and did the same with mine, I got 12+2at no extra cost to my self. It was done with no problems at all and courtesy of my dealers.

I wondered why mine was more than I originally thought! Why is it more in the first year?

It's the showroom tax, introduced around April 2010. The Government is so short of money, they will get you every way they can.

Update - apparently LR (or at least my dealer) uses a system called AFRL which only allows them to do add extra one week! - go figure.

Whilst on the subject of UK Road Tax (albeit slightky off topic) I don't know how many of you use the local DVLA offices but they are threatening to close them all. I was in the Manchester DVLA office today putting the papers through to put my number plate on retention when they announced to the staff a 30 day consulation period.

cjfp

If you check the link to the pdf I posted earlier it clearly states that the dealers can tax for one, two or three extra weeks with the tax starting on 10th, 17th or 24th of the month. It also gives costs on the second page. The document makes specific mention of AFRL

Just received confirmation from my dealer that Evoque is now taxed from 10th Dec. That's 12 months + 3 weeks.

Picking it up on Thursday morning. Very Happy

Great thread. I've sent an email to my dealer making sure that he takes this all onboard for Friday.
