RE: How long - KPNuts - 10-11-2011 11:20pm 20th November to 14th January, so yet another one with a similar delay. Dealer has said it may come forward, but they said that before and it has gone backwards. Are LR now managing our expectations? Tell us it will be January and then when it is only 4 weeks late we are happier as it will be 4 weeks earlier!!! I'm not sure I'd credit LR with enough gumption to manage our expectations but it's clearly better to have set a conservative date and then beat it instead of an ambitious one and then miss it for the umpteenth time. Tell us it will be January and then when it is only 4 weeks late we are happier as it will be 4 weeks earlier!!! I think it's very likely that they are. My 'current' build date is the 8th of December but the delivery date is showing as the 10th January, so even with a two week Christmas shutdown, over a month to get from the factory to the dealer seems excessive. There was also the request from LR to the dealers (Range Rover Evoque Supply Situation document) that they should not give detailed dates, only the month of delivery. I'm therefore trying to stay positive, and hoping that the dates they are now giving are very worst case, and that they expect to better them by a significant margin - or is that just me seeing my glass half full? Also, only 23 people have voted, is there really only that many of us on here who have been effected by the delays? A tad difficult to say when you're still stuck in the holding pool! RE: How long - paulus599 - 12-11-2011 12:41pm Ah, but if you've never had a build date, then it's not really a delay. I'm sure you see it differently though and I feel your pain! RE: How long - ChuckieB - 12-11-2011 12:56pm Exactly. As I indicated in another thread,.... probably the worst situation to be in. No clue at all. it's neither delayed but then again it doesn't have a build date either. Just going by my dealer's gut feel! RE: How long - mark_n - 14-11-2011 11:51am My date has moved back by a further week which means I can join the exclusive "More" club in the voting bands. Since it is now within spitting distance of 1 March, I think I will wait until I can get a "12" licence plate (even though it will be on a personal plate). Edit: The dealer is of course blaming the delay on my decision to change from Indus to Firenze. How did I ever think it would be any different? RE: How long - Rootsboy - 16-11-2011 08:44am Mine got moved back about one month, and from what i am aware it was just due to the fact that i added the panoramic roof to the order during september. so far the date i was given then for delivery is still the same. RE: How long - paulus599 - 16-11-2011 12:17pm So it's looking like LR's claim of an average 3 - 4 weeks delay is a little wide of the mark - no surprise really! RE: How long - mk82 - 16-11-2011 12:23pm ther is no choice/option like "earlier"... |
