It seems an Orkney Grey has made it onto Carpoint - can't see pictures - but at least you know there's one in the country.

All I can say is, if I moved back to Aus I could not afford an Evoque! I'd have to settle for a VW polo or Kia Soul Surprised

RE: Carpoint - Available Cars - chiggy - 18-11-2011 09:35am

yeah.

The problem is all the Evoques ordered by the dealers are all extremely high spec and priced more than an RRS. Agreed they aren't the same car, but when you're paying so much for a car here, people do consider size and space and boot space etc a lot more because you're paying a lot more.

The evoque isn't the same car as an RRS - entirely agreed - and many argue its much much better. But at the same time... when you're paying a lot... everyone is going to lean towards an RRS simply based on the fact that its bigger. It just seems more worth it at that point for some people.

I know if i was spending $100k I wouldn't go for an evoque - in my humble opinion, its just too much - but that's me. I know all the gizmos and options would make it a better car than an RRS but still won't be able to do it.

Agree, I don't think I could justify $100,000. I read LR Australia expected the average sale price to be $75,000 to $85,000. So therefore probably a Pure with pure tech plus options is expected to the most popular

Australian Luxury car taxes don't help, they are pretty severe. Not sure about Canada, but in Australian dollar terms, a $90000 dollar Evoque (This is the price of my Dynamic on the road ,drive away), would be about $60000 -$70000 in the UK and US.

P.S. Evoqess, i did'nt know you were from Australia originally. Which part were you from?

So our base price in Canada is $46-47000. My Pure came to $52-53000 before dealer charges (couple of grand) and 12% tax (saved most of that as I had a trade in and tax only paid on difference).
So cheaper here but - from memory your annual insurance is better. With a maximum discount of 43% it cost me close to $2000 to insure my Evoque.

Benzina, born and bred in Tassie. Mt Wellington didn't satisfy my mountain cravings so ended up here in snow country Smile For now anyway, Australia still tugs on the heart strings. Smile

Mmmm....currently 1 Canadian dollar is 0.97 AUD,so nearly parity.
Our Pure base prices here rounded off are: TD4 $54000 / SD4 $57000 / Si4 $60000. These prices exclude dealer delivery / rego Stamp duty (roughly $50000-$7000).
My Dynamic all told, and drive away figure is about $90000.

P.S. Tassie hey? Wow...nice place to grow up in.

They other thing on the base Pure price, it is very easy to add $20k in options by ticking a few boxes. We have to pay tax on the options as well.

I think most Pures with options will be price between $70,000 to $80,000 drive away

RE: Carpoint - Available Cars - benzina - 21-11-2011 08:24am

So true. It even happened to me with my start price on the Dynamic SD4 being $70000, and i end up paying $90000.

Ditto,

Pure SD4 start at $57k and just added tech pack, auto, pano, clearview and price is over $70k already.
