I'm not too sure - my factory complete date said 9 January 2012 but mine left just after new years..... so not entirely sure what that means!!
I think its just a deadline for when the car should be shipped out by - meaning the factory has completed its order including delivery to the port to be shipped out. After that it is no longer the responsibility of the factory? And is then recorded in the factory as complete and done and dusted.

Check online today for mine. Originally due in at Port Kembla on the 09/1/2011, but this was delayed from Melbourne.
Looks like my car was "discharged" this morning at 4:22

What do the following mean?
Liner Release
Discharge - is this discharged from the ship or when discharged from customs?
Delivered from - guessing this is when the cargo is delivered to the dealer.
example:
for a car on Carpoint:
SALVA1AG9CH607923 - VIN Number

When tracking:
Liner release: Fremantle.
Discharged: Fremantle (6 days after Liner Release).
Delivered from: Fremantle (3 days after Discharge).
I'm just trying to figure out what the 3 things mean so I can figure out how long it takes after reaching Fremantle to delivery.

These are my dates and i should be getting mine next Wednesday (fingers crossed):
DISCHARGED : 27-12-2011
DELIVERED FROM : 30-12-2011 (this was only updated on the 04-01-2012)
My dealer didn't receive the car till today so "DELIVERED FROM" must mean when its leaves Port Kembla perhaps.

This is what I goggled, it came from the VW Watercooler forum. Liner release happened for me has the boat was in Fremantle.
Line Release System - The Line Release System, a part of Customs' Automated Commercial System, is designed for the release and tracking of shipments through the use of personal computers and bar code technology. To qualify for line release, a commodity must have a history of invoice accuracy, and be selected by local Customs districts on the basis of high volume. To release the merchandise, Customs reads the bar code into a personal computer, verifies that the bar code matches the invoice data, and enters the quantity. The cargo release is transmitted to the Automated Commercial System, which establishes an entry and the requirement for an entry summary, and provides the Automated Broker Interface system participants with release information.

We have a Cargo Vessel, our Evoque is traveling on the Grand Mercury departing South Hampton on the 17.1.12 and arriving in Port Kembla on the 24/2/12. It looks like an early March delivery. Excitement plus

I am on that same vessel Evoque U!!! we're travelling together. I just checked that site as well, and wella!! it came up, and they must have only just put it on there,as it read ''no record found'' just this morning.
Seems mine had been sitting around the factory since build date 21/012/2011, then delivered to Southampton on 11/01/2012 for some more sitting around until departure on the 17/01/2012.
Yours however,has hardly been lazy at all,as it was only built on the 5/01/2012, and it's ready to catch the boat.
Soooo cool having this info, now i can relax and enjoy the fact that everyday it's getting closer,and to actually be able to see the progress, is fascinating.
So for my car,the important dates in summery were....
Order Date - 4/08/2011
Build date - 21/12/2011
Vin # recieved - 22/12/2011
Vista appearance date - 11/01/2012
Recieved at Southampton terminal - 11/01/2012
2wglobal shipping appearance - 16/01/2012
Factory Complete Date - 18/01/2012
Southampton departure - 17/01/2012
Fremantle arrival - 16/02/2012
Expected delivery date - late February.
