But as you have found if i use a purchased cd and inport it via the nav screenn i dont have any names. The only way i have got round it so far is to but the purchased cd on the pc in mp3 named form and add them to the usb pen.

It seems so far the copy cd to nav is not the best way for names of which i dont really like Sad

Hi Pete, glad I'm not alone! Haven't used the USB route yet but will probably give that a go. I will ask the dealership tomorrow and let you know if there is a solution!

All my music is stored on iTunes so can I just buy a 32gb USB flash drive & copy my iTunes folder to the USB stick then play them through the evoques USB drive with song names etc? Or will iTunes files be in a format which is not supported?

I dont think you will have a problem with that andy as long as they are MP3 i beleive.

Hi. Itunes stores as AAC files not MP3 so normally have to export my library from iTunes into MP3 files. Haven't tried USB stick yet so may try saving as AAC and see if it can read them. If not converting everything from AAC to MP3 is very time consuming!!

All mine are named, copies and purchased.

I have the upgraded Meridian though(825?).

AAC should work - from manual (p126) "The unit will play Compact Disc Digital Audio (CDDA) discs, MP3, WMA and AAC files"

Hi - Does it automatically pick up the songs as soon as it starts burning to the HD or does it process that data afterwards? I can't think why the 825 would be any different in that area. Can you confirm that you are using a purchased CD (not copied) and the system recognises the track data and CD title. If it's copied I can understand why the track data transfers as its normally contained within the file. Just want to make sure I am armed with the most accurate data when I call the dealership tomorrow! Thanks

Hi Andy - First off, you will need to locate your music library on your computer, this is where iTunes stores it songs. When you have found it, drag over your favourite albums etc to the USB stick. The stick plays perfectly (with all track information) in the Evoque (just tried it). This also means that he tracks will be copied across in .mp3 format which is a lot easier. If you try and burn directly from an iTunes playlist it will always try and do it to CD so effectively makes it impossible to burn to memory stick. At least that is the case on my Mac (not sure about Windows but assume its the same). If you try and export a playlist from iTunes it will simply export a .txt file which is useless! So in short, it does work and seems to work pretty well, just the CD info I now need to figure out!
