Ah o.k.... The only reason i ask, is cause when i look at occasionally bumping an interesting thread, like a poll back up for the newbie's etc, i can then look at deleting my bump post after a comment, to help keep the thread clean.

That won't work anyway, as soon as you delete it the thread it would fall back to where it was.

Sorry, you might have misunderstood...Yes i realise it would fall back to where it started if know one else makes a comment after me, (why i mentioned after a comment).
I would only delete if someone else makes a comment after me,and therefor, it would stay in it's position.

Sorry, didn't see the part about "after a comment" - you are correct Smile

IE9 compatibility is still lacking. Double posts occur as soon as I disable IE8 mode.
And indeed not being able to delete one of the two posts means this stupid problem can't be avoided.

Hang on, Microsoft change their browser, and make it difficult to track and resolve an issue they cause, and it's a stupid problem with the forum (i.e. my fault)?

If you double post just report the double post and a mod or me will delete it. It'll also help us to know how widespread the issue is. Thanks.

I am looking to fix this, as you can see from the posts above I did try a fix but it broke other site features.

Sorry I didn't want to blame you directly.

It was MyBB's fault for not adapting to recent browsers (IE9 has been around since March), but apparently they've fixed this bug quite a while ago so now the only thing necessary is upgrade to the latest version of the forum software, that's all. http://dev.mybb.com/issues/1501

It's possible that the new version brings other bugs (let's hope MyBB fixes those as well then), but you'll never be able to fix the IE9 issue when you don't move forward in the software upgrades.

The reason I've not moved to the current latest version is that version 2 is due imminently.

It seems there has been a forum update? Great, thank you!

Indeed, please let me know your feedback about IE9 issues Smile
