RE: LED Dome and Rear Bulbs - olde - 02-03-2012 10:46pm Could someone please post a definitive LED-upgrade list? We fearful modders need instructions, pictures, and bulb specifications preferably in shopping list format. That LED-Upgrade List should likely become a sticky posting, as it seems to be THE most popular modification. There are a few (dim/weak) ambient lights that have so far not made it to the list (e.g. knee, door handle), and some controversy about what bulbs will fit in the boot/trunk. Also, some of us are changing out exterior lights, like reversing lights, with variable effects. P.S. You guys who pioneered the LED-upgrades, you rock! You already knew that, right? RE: LED Dome and Rear Bulbs - cjfp - 02-03-2012 11:20pm To date, see posts #100 and #110 RE: LED Dome and Rear Bulbs - olde - 06-03-2012 03:31am Thanks cjfp. 7 x Interior Headliner LED's are 501 T10 w5w capless ... no best examples yet? 4 x Interior Door Handle LED's ... unknown 2 x Interior Footwell LED's ... unknown yet? (each one lights up a 3-inch x 1/8-inch opaque tube). 1 x Interior Boot/Trunk LED is 37mm Festoon type ... example 2 x External Reverse LED's are T.15-w16w ... example That's 14-interior LED's, and 2-exterior LED's, right? RE: LED Dome and Rear Bulbs - cjfp - 06-03-2012 09:15am On site so can go deep - we do know the footwell leds, the 'tube' ones are different and I think refer to the ambient lighting ones in the footwell/centre console. Also could add the rear indicators but I don't know what type they are. RE: LED Dome and Rear Bulbs - cutter7 - 06-03-2012 09:28am Front and Rear indicator LED type bulbs are: 18-SMD 5200S 5202 LED (amber) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/No-Error-Amber-18-SMD-5200S-5202-LED-turn-signal-lights-/130556749777?_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D1%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D66%E2%80%8B76360495492191959#ht_5764wt_1180&clk_rvr_id=321191089815 (06-03-2012 03:31am)olde Wrote: Thanks cjfp. RE: LED Dome and Rear Bulbs - mickydd - 08-03-2012 11:34pm Course it does, I'll send you the blue lights, just pop them in the front grille. RE: LED Dome and Rear Bulbs - edgedata - 14-03-2012 01:38am Many thanks to Pete at Bell Auto Services and the following picture. (Mine weren't quite as rusty :lol Using the two Stanley knife blades helped me remove the front console very easily indeed. I used a small screwdriver and an old credit card (to protect the plastic) to remove the rear covers Nothing covering the footwell lights so just removed the old and fitted the new LED's Boot light very easily removed with small screwdriver. Total time to change all eight interior bulbs = 15mins. Just for all those who asked about LED's to use. Here are the items I purchased. Boot light - link to eBay item All seven cabin lights are the same - link to eBay item Very pleased with the overall effect. Lighting is now very white as opposed to the standard yellow bulbs which look kind of dated. I also had zero problems with the touch proximity sensors in the front lights after fitting. They all worked exactly as before. |
