RE: Has your build/delivery date been put back? - GibEvoque - 25-10-2011 09:59am

Just asked my dealer what was happening regarding my order and doesn't look good, it has been sat in the holding pool but the dealer was provided the following info:

"Confirm tomorrow - waiting for Order Call to open - received note today from factory which reads:

"I am pleased to confirm that the order call for December build for Defender, Discovery, RR Sport & Range Rover is now open until close of business Friday 28th October. Please use build period 1112.

The Freelander & RR Evoque Order calls have been delayed until further notice. Further details will be communicated shortly."

What surprises me is that the freelander is having similar probs, guess there is some real probs at the factory.

It does mean however that i am going to have to consider my options soon, as likely to be carless by next week as already have interest in my car and cannot afford for it to depreciate much more.

This does not sound good...

I'm in the same position. Got my car to sell. It's 3 years old soon and want to avoid paying for service/tax etc.

Not quite sure what to do....

I had a call from the dealer yesterday.

I can have my car in 10 days time - 6 weeks early - but without pan roof or xenons.

or if I want the pan roof date goes out to end january.

So as I already accepted than the xenons arent avaialble I now have to decide whether to forego the pan roof also. Which Im reluctant to do as its quickly becoming the car im lumbered with rather than the one I wanted.

Dilema is I have now sold my current car and will be without transport until sometime next year. So a hire car is the only option. Has anyone received the offer of a courtesy car?

Tyke

Just had email from dealerCrying

I am sorry to report that Land Rover have informed us this week that all Evoque orders have slipped by 4-6 weeks, some even more.
The latest delivery I have for your order is 26/01/2012.

That's a slip of 2 weeks from the last reported delivery date of 12/01/12. So appears not to be too bad, when compared to the 4-6 weeks quoted.

Have asked whether £150 compensation is available as a cash sum, or as accessories/extras. Will post his response, once received.

No way would I forgo the pano roof. Im sure you'd regret it afterwards
There are stock cars avAilBle if you can't wait as posted widely, you could see if there is one in your spec with pano roof, you never know.

Seems you guys are having some communication form your dealers, I still don’t know whether my car will be here on the 18 Nov, was told a few weeks back its been push back to December. I have been trying to get a confirmation on that but nothing so far.

Dealer confirmed £150 to be taken as accessories so have agreed to a fitted set of front and rear mud flaps and a touch up paint pencil stick. This in addition to a full set of rubber mats and rear loadspace rubber mat, all previously agreed to, F.O.C.Smile

If the build is delayed till February, worth hanging on to register it 1 March.

As mentioned, if Freelander orders are not being accepted, there's something very wrong at Halewood, you wonder how they're keeping the workers occupied. Scrabble with triple points for delayed Evoque parts?
