Si4 driven just over 1200 klms
Average so far 10.8 litres per 100 klms (I think that is about 26 mpg)
I would expect this to improve a bit
About 50% city driving.

Yes, the drain on the battery made by those systems puts a physical load on the alternator (driven by a belt that charges the battery) and that will effect fuel economy.

28.3mpg over 1,300 miles in my SD4 at an average speed of 34mph...
Worth noting that I drive pretty heavy footed.

Bought a Ford Kuga 140 Tdci in May. Combined quoted = 47.1; I achieve 44mpg on mainly 60mile round commute at 70mph in 6th gear. Done 6Kmiles to date.
Will be watching this thread closely for 150 TD4 Manual figures as time progresses as thinking of a Pure TD4 manual in 2013......but not if these mpg figures quoted don't improve!
PS Also got a '93 200Tdi Range Rover Classic that does 32mpg on a run at 60mph....!

Thanks for the answer Straydox! Expect my fuel economy will improve in the warmer months (1. Heated everything turned off 2. Vespa ignition turned on hehe).

Filled up for second time at 137.9p total of £71, got 337 miles since last fill up. Trip claims 35mpg, and after filling up claims 430 miles range (rather than 450 as last time), reset the trip (this resets the mpg for trip A too which is a neat feature) after a further couple of hundred miles now shows 33mpg and still taking it easy...

Doing the maths here:
£71 of fuel at 1.379 a litre = 51.48 litres
divide by 4.54 to get UK Gallons = 11.34 gallons
divide 337 by 11.34 gallons to get MPG = 29.71
That's dreadful, the only unknown would be if the tank was brimmed fill up to fill up....or not
I'm depressed - even the Auto's do better than that

I'm starting to get concerned with these figures! They are very poor & far from what LR & the Salesmen quote. Think I may reconsider!

Thanks for doing the math for me! It was pretty much brimmed both times. At least this compares almost exactly to my Mazda, and it will get better as the engine will be tight! So ill keep updating and see how it goes. I feel a spread sheet coming on with some graphs...
The only bit that concerns me is I havent put my foot down in it yet... still letting it all bed in.

You are most welcome on the maths end of things - what kind of roads have you been driving over the last tankful - just general Oxfordshire stuff (I grew up in Abingdon so know the county well)? Any long motorway runs in there?
I get .18p a mile for business mileage so at 1.379 the break even point is 35 mpg - for a fairly highly geared 2.2 diesel manual (albeit with the aerodynamics of a breeze block) 35 doesn't seem unreasonable. If by the time mine gets here - rumoured to be April 2012 the fuel economy is still as poor as yours I'll be grumbling.
I suspect that LR need to do some further tweaking of the digital fuelling maps of the SD4 - I'd query it with the supplying dealer and ask if there are any updates.
