little vibration exactly 1400 rpm - san28 - 24-09-2012 01:53pm Hello everybody! I come from Spain and I am new here. My english is very bad. Sorry! I´ve noticed in my evoque a slight drone around 1,400 r.p.m. and a llittle vibration could be felt through the steering wheel. I can notice it stopped and circulating but always around 1400 rpm. Before and later is disappears. I have proved other 2 evoque and they were doing it. Has someone noticed this? Sorry again for my very bad english. Thank you! RE: little vibration exactly 1400 rpm - mmonteiro - 27-11-2012 12:35pm Mine too! I'm driving a Pure 4wd (diesel) and always have the same noise and vibartion between 1400/1800. It feels like the pieces are not tight together.. RE: little vibration exactly 1400 rpm - PhilSkill - 27-11-2012 12:58pm I assume these are Auto Gearbox vehicles you both have, there has been something mentioned on these lines before so worth a search. RE: little vibration exactly 1400 rpm - mmonteiro - 27-11-2012 01:26pm I have a manual gearbox Re: little vibration exactly 1400 rpm - DaveR - 27-11-2012 06:19pm I have noticed something similar on my sd4 auto (aug 2012) usuallly only when under load. I was going to mention it to my dealer as my first Evoque also an sd4 auto (Dec 2011) didn't experience this Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2 RE: little vibration exactly 1400 rpm - san28 - 10-12-2012 10:21am I have a manual gearbox too RE: little vibration exactly 1400 rpm - PhilSkill - 10-12-2012 03:04pm I have Manual gearbox and don't have this, in fact 1400 is where the Diesel tends to sit when driving casually so would notice it a lot if it did, and I often accelerate from those sorts of revs loading the engine, so maybe the mapping has changed in MY2013 models...?, does it vibrate as you accelerate through 1400, or when at constant revs? RE: little vibration exactly 1400 rpm - Evo-king - 10-12-2012 10:23pm I have exactly the same problem and Nick@LandRover is currently looking into this. My steering wheel vibration is evident between 1200 RPM and 1800 RPM, and is at its worst at 1400RPM, I also have the manual. Am trying to establish if this is a diesel/SD4 characteristic or design flaw. Here's a thought, wonder if Pete Bell has come across this? Hopefully, Nick and LR will have an answer for us soon. I have what looks like the same issue, except the noise turns into a vibration that goes right to the steering wheel. Also. I have Petrol/Gas engine in Montreal Canada. We are not alone, looks like it is world wide, and not specific to diesel engines. The following comment comes from another Forum, not sure which one since I have been looking at a few different ones to see where I will join. I saved this post so that I can show it to my dealer along with this forums post with what seems like a more common problem. Forum post- I stopped by the dealer this morning and had one of the techs hear it again. He knew right away what it was as he said all the PTI Evoques he's driven has the same vibration/humming noise coming from the transmission tunnel. He said it's most likely when the torque converter locks up is when the noise is occuring. He says there is nothing wrong with it although it's only the Evoque's he tested has this noise. He also mention maybe call or email Land Rover and let them know so hopefully there will be a fix. Again.....there is nothing wrong but it's still not right to have this vibration for a $50k-$60k+ vehicle. I'll probably call Land Rover and let them know. Possibly those who have this vibration/humming noise do the same so they will do something about it. RE: little vibration exactly 1400 rpm - Dwp - 12-12-2012 08:53pm I've got a similar issue in my Td4 at around 1500 revs, nothing serious but there is a definite vibration that I can feel through the wheel. |
