Nail in the tyre - Dynamique - 28-05-2012 09:18pm So, my other half was trying to park, scraped the wheel along the kerb and managed to push a nail into the tyre. Spacesaver wheel is now on and I now need a new tyre. Any advice on where to go? RE: Nail in the tyre - deadliner - 28-05-2012 09:22pm Nail in the tyre does not have to mean new tyre... It might be repairable... RE: Nail in the tyre - WB - 28-05-2012 09:26pm yep - I picked up a screw in one of the tyres and it was repairable. RE: Nail in the tyre - WB - 28-05-2012 09:29pm What the !!!! That's VERY unfortunate and yes not repairable as its right on the corner RE: Nail in the tyre - deadliner - 28-05-2012 09:31pm I think it is a bit big. But who knows, ask in the workshop... RE: Nail in the tyre - Griff449 - 28-05-2012 09:33pm What price for a tyre you reckon then? That nail looks huge! Was just going round a roundabout then thud, god knows how it got in the tyre as it was about 6" long Luckily had the spare wheel rather than the gunk as I think the gunk might of leaked lol RE: Nail in the tyre - ED209 - 28-05-2012 09:37pm I had a nail in my tyre after only 600 miles, Tyre fitter ( a friend of mine) advised a new tyre as it was quite close to the side wall. I advised him that he had better fix it as it was about 5-6 cm from the corner of the tyre. He fixed it and it has been no proplem since. Cost me a tenner instead of £200 for a new tyre. |
