Forum's First Asian Evoque - Roidman - 12-12-2011 12:36am After waiting for nearly six long months, my baby has finally arrived. It is now undergoing some cosmetic detailing before I can bring her home. I am both relieved and delighted. The only good thing about the whole delays is that I paid S$221,500 (approx £128,000) and now the listed price is S$255,000! Hope to post some pics to showcase the first Asian Evoque in this forum. RE: Forum's First Asian Evoque - BMW86 - 12-12-2011 01:21am Congrats on the 1st Evoque. That price is insane! I know Australian and Singaporean prices are similar but 220k!? I think a loaded Pure Si4 would come in around 100k here. Why the mark up? RE: Forum's First Asian Evoque - Roidman - 12-12-2011 08:05am Is the crazy tax system here. To buy a car one has to first bid for a Certificate of Entitlement (COE) which went up as high as S$77,000. And COE has quota and there are several categories of COE. I won't bored you further with the system but that in sum how it got marked up. The only good think about COE is it detects people from buying cars and in turn prevents traffic congestion. I was in Singapore last week and spotted an Ipanema Sand parked outside the Fullerton Hotel. When I get home to my laptop I will try to post some pics of it that I snapped. That's a crazy system. We get slugged with a lot of unnecessary taxes and it gets progressively worse the more money you spend. Eg. for a brand new M3 we are looking at 160k+!! The Evoque is fairly reasonably priced over here considering what else is on the market, however I've seen some well modified Evoque's going for 120k on carsales! RE: Forum's First Asian Evoque - Roidman - 14-12-2011 02:57pm Brought my baby home yesterday. The delivery process was pretty elaborated. I was brought to a delivery suite and when the sliding door opened, there she was, on a huge turntable. Then went through an hour 'course' on how to operate the car. It was pretty cool! The ride was smooth and powerful but the suspension is pretty hard. I guess is the 20' rim that I upgraded. Nonetheless, i had a very enjoyable ride home. Will be spending the next few days exploring the gadgets. hope you guys can check out the pics thru the following links: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/39517369/evoque%20front.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/39517369/evoque%20rear.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/39517369/evoque%20side.jpg RE: Forum's First Asian Evoque - Ezandania - 14-12-2011 03:18pm Congrats Roidman!
