I had forgotten i had this feature, so i tried it, and while the global opening works, i have found that my global closing does NOT work. I can't be sure, but i thought i had seen it working in my first year of ownership.

I found nothing in the owners manual about it in menu settings, and only explains the procedure of holding the key fob buttons for more then 3 seconds.

Does anyone know why the closing is not working? I have googled this, and read somewhere that the closing function is not available on US & Australian versions for safety reasons, but i find that hard to believe. So if US & Australian owners can chime in and test theirs, that would be great, in order to either confirm this or eliminate it from the problem. Thanks in advance.
O.k....so i went into the service centre and spoke with the head technician. He confirmed that the global closing feature is NOT available in Australian , US, and middle East markets due to safety regulations.
i asked if i could get it activated, and he said no they can't do it. Shame, cause the closing is the one that is more convenient and need the most.
I wonder if their is a trick like that with the seat belt chime on/off, that would activate it?
Hi Benzina, I have not been on here for a long time, but I agree, I would like to know a work around given we are coming into summer.
Hey there Barney, good to see ya! Looks like we'll have to do some more enquiries and try and get it to work. Funny how the owners manual doesn't mention this.
I think the dealers could easily activate it , but won't in order to cover themselves.
Next time i'm in there, i'll do some more digging, and just ask if it could be easily done, and how to do it, otherwise maybe a LD specialist centre could help.
Gotta say, with this beautiful spring weather we're having, i'm really enjoying driving around with all windows fully down (excluding clogged highways)....and surprisingly, theirs virtually zero wind buffeting or any gusts with the 4 down.
Benzina try opening the front two fully and closing the rears... Mine goes crazy at about 50mph!
Here's hoping those with a coupe don't suffer the same thing.
Hi m_101, yep i have tried with just fronts down and concur it goes crazy, and this is why i was so delighted to find the exact opposite when i put the rears down as well, the buffeting totally stopped......just serene fresh air motoring. I think most owners drive in a fully closed climate controlled cabin, and may have forgotten how nice fresh air motoring can be on a beautiful day.
Perhaps we have found the 4 door Evoque's secret aerodynamic quirk, that allows for a full fresh air driving experience, without the drawbacks of being blasted by wind.
Benzina, it would be nice is there was part of the Pan Roof that opened for the open air. My wife has an SLK so we can do the whole top down thing which is awesome in spring and summer Cool

Yep i fully agree Barney, which is why i created that Poll to gauge interest.....See here http://babyrr.com/forum/Thread-Sunroof-o...pothetical

It's about the only thing that disappointed me when i was ordering the sunroof finding out it was fixed and did not open. I wanted opening so much i even went so far as offering them 5 grand to put a special request in to the factory to do it for me, but they said sorry it can't be done.
I still look up at the glass on those beautiful balmy nights, and wish it could open.
