My dealer wanted $90 to change my air filter. I said- uh, how much does the part cost? $60? plus $30 for labor. I'm thinking that the stock filter might be a K&N style, which are about that much. Nope- just the basic, low cost filter you can get anywhere. "Thanks- I think I can handle this one myself". Picked up one at my local AutoZone yesterday for $20. I'm not some mechanical genius- but if I said it took 5 min to replace- I would be exaggerating the time by 2 min.
As far as I can tell- and I examined them pretty closely and felt the material, there was no difference between the stock Land Rover filter and the basic one I got at AutoZone (STP SA11485).
Definitely a DIY job. As for the *Cabin* air filter... that's a pain in the ass.
