I had a check engine light come on a few days so naturally I went to my dealership to get it check on. Since I was near my first 5K mark and I'm overly caution about my baby I decided to get a oil change as well. The rep quoted me 130 so I said I'll pay for this one and I'll use my first service around the 1 year mark.. The rep informed me that for the 2016 models the first service is not free anymore and we have to pay for every service from now on. I know its only May but did anyone else hear about the first service not being included anymore?
Do you have a 5 year service plan? otherwise all services are at owners cost.
I recall that the first service has always been free or at least free for any model year before 2016.

Ah you are in the States so probably different... as I've never heard of that, certainly in the UK when the Evoque launched no services were free, then the 5 year service plan came out that you buy with the vehicle or in the first 3 months, then you get 5 years servicing free.
Hi Andylee, I'm in Maryland and driving a 2016. Yep first service is no longer free. I'll be paying $390.00 in Annapolis for my first service.
