Using your DA would of course give you the best results over a hand polisher. can you remove the light units if a 4"pad is going to be too big (catching the surrounding paint work)?
As the scratches are fine, using a fine/finishing compound on a soft pad @miduim speed (30sec pass between checking) should do the job.
Meguiar's make a plastic cleaner/polish "plastRX" which is made for headlights.

RE: gTechniq Availablility

Thanks Doug, Yes I could indeed remove the lenses to allow the DA to do work without worrying about the surrounding paintwork and save buying some more pads, that's a good idea, I have only 6" pads. I'll try the finishing polish and see how it goes.

I had seen Plast-X but thought it was a temporary filler as much as a polish.
Regarding the gTechniq Order, they came back to me saying they'd found some (they were short on C5) and have sent it... although it hasn't arrived yet (hopefully today)

RE: gTechniq Availablility

Thanks kevoque i'd love to just get gTechniq throughout, but I have so much Meguires stuff that came free with the polisher, I can't justify buying it yet. I have Meguires Super Fine Finishing Polish so will give it a go with that over the least visible part and see how it goes.

Interesting the C products are the same, Doug mentioned about C4 and C5 doing the same job, but surely C1 being pro application is not? or is C5/C4 just C1?

It wasn't me. C4 is a mat dash/trim product.
I did wonder if C5 & C1 where the same, as they do the same job. But hoped that C5 being applied to wheels would have been stronger. What about C4 for trim, it that the same as well?

RE: gTechniq Availablility

Hi phil C1 Crystal lacquer & C4 permanent trim restorer & C5 wheel armour are all the same products ! Definately worth it what a finish you do get ! Even the G1 is amazing no need for window wipers ! C6 is the Matt Dash ! Have Finished doing the Evoque the full Exo treatment and it is totally out of this world will get about 8 cars to 1 Can !
Call Rob and get 7.5% off until £100 and get 10% discount added to your account after that register on Gtechniq site first and let him know your email address and logging in name and he will sort out your account up for discount !
Well worth it ! You will need polish pads for P1 and also finishing 5" are good for DA with 4.75" backing plate
Kev
Halfords do not supply Gtechniq products only Farecia products ie G3 which are not the same by any means !

RE: gTechniq Availablility

Thanks kevoque, well I've used C5 on my winter wheels, and was very easy to apply so if thats same as C1 gives me confidence, the hard work is in the prep...

Sorry Doug I though you told me to use any leftover C5 on the plastic trim as it was the same.

Wish I'd got in touch with Rob as no luck with my C6 on order, not arrived today Sad

RE: gTechniq Availablility

C6 Matte Dash finally turned up, but no C5... Fortunately dont need that for a few weeks, but unexpectedly slow service from The Ultimate Finish.
