Practicality and off-road abilities were the most important for me. It's a thirsty old thing but the fuel cost even now will be swamped by the depreciation, especially for the Si4.

Evoque was great, now in an RRS SVR

and besides that: it looks stunning !!

I reckon its REAL CO2 emissions are about 227 based on its real fuel consumption. More lies.

No - I only do about 8k miles a year and reckon I would need to double that to get real benefit from a diesel.

Even listening to that is not very convincing. A bit of tinkering round the edges to get a few percent saving instead of designing a more fuel efficient engine/gearbox/drive train in the first place. I was lulled by the publicity into believing that the car had next-generation engine technology, not an old engine shoe-horned into a new body. Despite it now being a distant relative, that's reminiscent of the old Leyland/BMC approach!
