Towing with the Evoque?

Hard question I know, but based on the SD4 190 Diesel engine and a manual six speed what do you think the evoque wil be like as a tow car?

I guess the Freelander is the nearest to compare?

We will be swapping 2x cars for the evoque, Mk6 Golf GTi and a Ford Transit Sport.

I use the van to tow my race car and the Golf is for the Mrs as will the Evoque as a day to day driver.

Anyone planning on towing a lot with the Evoque?

Dave

RE: Towing with the Evoque?

I know bog-all about towing (lots on here do), but for my 2 pence worth I'd say that advertising the Evoque towing a boat would have been a mistake if it isn't actually capable of doing it.

RE: Towing with the Evoque?

Every 4x4 Land Rover or Range Rover makes a good tow car. It's just what they do.

Not so sure on a 2wd as pulling trailers up steep hills can make the front go a bit light, so I'd prefer the 4x4 option.

Just check the towing max weight in the handbook or online.

Thanks for that, I was guessing that all would be well.

Car and trailer only weigh 1500kg, so its not a huge weight to carry. Not sure what the actual capicites are for the 4wd 190 SD4?

According to this link the max braked trailer weight is 1800kg.

The 4wd should be ok then I guess.

Going for the rearview cam for the trailer hitch as well.

Just got too look out for a nice 'stealth' detachable towbar now.
