Thinking Mercedes GLC

Had a brief test drive in GLC today- better than I thought it was going to be- got a half day arranged next weekend.
Anyone looked at GLC or have thoughts ?
Had looked a BMW X3 but this looked / drove better in my view

RE: Thinking Mercedes GLC

I don't know much about the GLC, but my e class estate is about the only previous car off mine that I miss, it was a lovely car.

After living in Germany for 12 years, I'd rather push my Evoque than drive a Taxi. No offence but Mercedes are two a penny and not very stylish. GLC looks in my opinion like any other Small SUV.

RE: Thinking Mercedes GLC

Had extended test drive today in GLC - 65 miles

Very steady in high winds on motorway , engine and Auto box smoother than Evoque and ride better on all three settings.Handling sharper than mine - more car like
Minus points - not as high up as I would have liked , Don't like the iPad - stuck on dash and the 'bling'
Not decided yet.
Went to see Volvo XC60 - liked outside but inside very 'dated' small Nav screen and concerns about future value based on the huge discounts advertised on the car in showroom

Don't know what to get- looking for High Driving position- Disc Sport similar to Merc but leather / finish better in Merc than Disc Sport- don't need seven seats so why 'pay' for them- need ideal 40 mpg

Budget is @ £40K would consider Demo
What are others looking at as future Replacement ?

RE: Thinking Mercedes GLC

I got the BMW X4 35i. Like the Evoque it has unique styling and has a very clean interior. The 35i is an amazing engine, drives beautifully with amazing power and I get better fuel efficiency than I got in the Evoque. Worth considering in my opinion...

Gone - Range Rover Evoque - Si4 Pure - 5 Door Fuji White

I've had a brief test in an X4- again only 'concern' was driving height- I do prefer it over X3
How do you find it from the 'command' position compared to Evoque please?
The that i could afford would be 2 .00 D M sport- a number around pre reg which saves @ 4k- only problem they all seem to be Black or Red !!!

It sits a little lower than the Evoque but the seats are very adjustable an I probably prefer it now. X4 looks great in black!
