Test drives - how long?
Hi all, struggling to get more than 15mins in a car. For this sort of outlay I want to be sure (other option is an X3 which drives brilliantly) and feel 15mins isn't long enough. Anybody in Sydney had more luck?

RE: Test drives - how long?
We took a Si4 and a SD4 out on 30min test drives. When in the UK I drove an SD4 for about an 45mins from the factory tour so our test drive was to compare the 2 engines. IMHO the X3 has nothing on an Evoque. Where in Sydney are you?

Northern beaches, have had a short drive back to back of both at Parramatta. X3 winning for onroad manners from that comparison but prefer the Evoque in almost all other ways. But you buy it to drive it - need to be sure.

My test drive went for about 30 minutes. Weekends are the busiest so you might get more time if you schedule the test drive during the week.

I bought mine in Narellan with the best service, we also went to trivetts in Parramatta and Alexandria and had the worst experience with them. Having said that it may have come down to the salesman, a few people on here have good experiences with Micheal or Brett at LR Alexandria so maybe speak to one of them and only them.

I did a test drive in Newcastle - working up here during the week. My slot was probably somewhere between 15 and 30 minutes. Although I only got to drive it for half the distance. The salesman drove the first half of the trip.

I was given the keys and told to take as long as I like. I ended up taking an hour

RE: Test drives - how long?
Yes best time is to go late morning on a week day. I walked in asked for a test drive, he took my license and handed over the keys. I was pretty suprised he let me take it by myself. I brought it back 15 mins later. I didn't know what the etiquette was so thought 15 mins was fair. I will go for another test drive before ordering though and for a little longer drive.
