TD4 - Got a build slot at last - Updated

Just got confirmation that I have an End of Jan 12 build slot (so one month delay over the original). Will get the VISTA confirmation tomorrow - roll on 1st March

I have now received my VISTA printout, but the rear view camera was not showing. My dealer updated and the build date came back as 6th Jan (instead of 27th). I am not complaining, but it just shows how crazy JLR's order scheduling process is. I will be getting it as quickly as I can; pictures to follow.

I see you have a build date already, your dealer has looked this up in Vista.

I don't see why you should have delays. I have the impression LR wants to starts building ED4 / TD4's with a clean sheet and push back some SD4's to achieve this. If your build date is 20/01/2012 then the delivery date will be end of February though.

that after the b_date it is within 3 weeks >>>>delevery !!!

So you have a car from say.... the August order call.......with build date that has been pushed back to january....but it's all on Vista, and your build could be put back further because of TD4 orders?????

+1 I have had a order in since March 11. Still no confirmed build date.

Just do the math. How on earth can they start ED4 production in January (as planned) with such a huge backlog for the SD4 / SI4? Yet they do start on time and most of us European TD4/ED4 customers are expecting our orders more or less as planned. I've heard quite a lot of delayed SD4 orders, but my build date has never changed (for almost two months that is). Also, why didn't the UK dealers get a November call (or at least a very very small one) while several European customers on this forum (mostly TD4/ED4 as opposed to the SD4 which seems to dominate the UK) did get a December build date? To make some room?

I'm not saying UK SD4's will be pushed back further in the near future. I'm saying they have already been pushed back to make sure the ED4's and TD4's for the rest of Europe can be delivered without being affected by the existing stream of delays. And I would add to that: damn right, we've waited long enough as well. I ordered in January, if I lived in the UK I would have received my vehicle a long time ago.

This is just my interpretation of the things I read and hear of course. It's clear that the UK has its own ordering system. Here in Belgium I've never heard what position I'm in on some list, I've never heard of monthly order calls, we don't get to see Vista printouts, etc. Everything passes through some kind of national distribution company which makes it very difficult to get information and to make direct complaints to your dealer...

well due to the lower number of cars on the last order call I missed out on my TD4 pure order. Apparently i am now 2nd on the dealers list for the next order call which i am told will be soon.

Also took the opportunity to reove the mats from my order, going to get some from carmats4u site as suggested by a forum member on here. They look top notch quality and are hugely cheaper than JLR ones !(yes i am a skinflint)

Theres a good spec q5 for immediate delivery on drive the deal today for £29600 and to be honest i would buy it today however one problem is its painted solid bloody black, if it was any metallic coulour I would buy it now and take my hard earned cash elsewhere.
