Sun dazzle above interior mirror

Driving back from Reading to Oxford this evening and the sun was dazzling me above the interior mirror. I didn't noticed that the extended black dotty area (anti dazzle strip) that I've had on my last 6 or so cars wasn't there. Anyone else (I suspect it's 5ft people) had this problem?

The dotty black area isn't an anti-dazzle feature, it's for toll tags.

Well I never knew that!! So it is to mount tags on? Obviously dual purpose too!!

My passenger tonight was below the sun-visor shadow line, so was being blinded and couldn't raise the passenger seat so couldn't escape it either. No problem for me driving though.
