Update:
It was a faulty battery!
Despite having 3 different garages (including the garage that repaired it today) test the battery with 3 separate machines none of them picked up on this simple failure using the new digital battery diagnostic computer.
The garage guy told me he was 100% certain the battery was to blame as he'd done an 'old style' drop test and it went from 700amps down to less than 100amps.
He said the newer test machines sometimes miss this type of failure.
Anyway.... so far so good, The car is fine but until i've started and restarted the car another couple of hundred times I'm not 100% confident but ill update here one way or another!

After replacing the battery and the fault still comes up, it might be due to a faulty Aux battery in our evoques already.
