Putting some numbers on things

Well I just found a may built car with the same prefix VIN as mine on a car website here in oz and it was built 2 months prior to mine and it was around the 68xxxx range. Mine still isn't showing in topix.. Is this normal??? Or could my car be allocated a VIN that the dealer can see before its built? I thought that since tomorrow is 3 weeks since build date I'd be able to track the bloody thing somewhere... This forums got me hyped up to do it lol.

Now over 300 a day production looking good, hopefully we'll see an icrease if we get a few more number and dates in.

Bump, for any new or soon to be owners, please post or PM me VIN last 6 digits and build date.

Intresting time to see the new build rate with 24hr working.

Believe me, i realy would like to post my VIN but after more than 5 months since order (start of april) I just received a note from my dealer that he "expects" to get it built in Oct. - very dissapointed

Can someone tell me how long before production a VIN is known.
My car should be produced end of this month and I still don't have a VIN.

After a long wait:
Initial predicted Built Date: 19.10.2012 - no VIN,sorry.

I imagine it gets a VIN when all the components are organized for the construction line, or when the main chassis plate is allocated to the customer, which probably isn't so long before the build takes place. Just a guess though.
