has anyone compared these to the french prices? (i'll have a look later but no point if work done).

I don't think that you can compare 1v1 the prices in Portugal and France or in any market due to different taxes.
On the other hand you can compare the price difference between models in each market to figure out where Evoque is stand price wise.

The French catlogue showed Pre & Post tax (19.6%) prices. VAT in Portugal is 23% so we should be able 'net' down to make some comparisons somewhere. Having said that, I haven't had a good look at this but will try to later today.

it's not that simple.
there are other taxes like luxury etc. which we don't know.
Look for example the base price for RRS and RR in France and Portugal.
France RRS ->56k Portugal -> 92K !!
France RR -> 88K Portugal -> 132!!
