Newbie on forum - Dog Cage

Hi, if I'm posting in the wrong sub section of this rather good and informative forum, forgive me mods and please feel free to move.

As with my winter tyres thread, Mrs Disco is the lucky owner of a 5 dr Dynamic SD4, Fuji white, pan roof, 20" tyres, auto. Truly stunning piece of kit.

We are also picking up our first ever pup in the New Year, a beautiful golden retriever bitch. Can anyone recommend a cage or similar for a 5dr boot for this size of dog? Any experiences or tips of being a dog owner with an Evoque.

I would hate to have to upgrade to a larger RR, as the evoque has something special about it the other's don't.

Likewise, search for threads with "dog" in the subject and you will find multiple threads with lots of information.

RE: Newbie on forum - Dog Cage

Hi I have a Labrador & a 5 door evoque, he is very good so I don't have a cage or guard at the moment, but http://www.lintran.co.uk do a box for the evoque, personaly for a do that size I would go for a dog guard, & a must for a goodie is a boot liner to keep hairs of the carpet I have one from http://www.titancovers.co.uk they are worth every penny.
I am going for a tailgate guard as well for the summer so I can leave the boot open with a vent lock from http://www.ventlock.com, my dog travels every were with me &often has to stay in the car (for short periods only) but its a must to let venterlation in. I had a Santa Fe before & miss the back window opening.
Hope this helps

I have a small shih tzu and just ordered the above.

If you lay a blanket and clip the seat belt in it will be fine!

Hi Bb - how did you get on with the ventlock and the electric tailgate, does it work or does the tailgate throw a paddy because it's stopped short of the normal closed position? Am asking on behalf of friends on mine who like the ventlock I have on the D4 and are contemplating getting one for their bRR.

TIA,

MrH

RE: Newbie on forum - Dog Cage

For a fitted dog guard I can fully recommend this for the five door:
http://www.montblancgroup.com/en/dog-gua...easy-go-01
It fits to the headrests nice and secure and the two side extensions fill the gaps well.
It also does not take any space off the load area especially if you use tie wraps to secure the bottom of the guard to the clips on the seat backs.
Its available as a Pets @ Home and Halfords branded version also, I paid about £50 but seen it for anything from £35 to £90!
We have an exceptionally large (50Kg) German Shepherd/Retriever cross Guide Dog and it keeps him out of trouble!
As good a fit as the proper RR one and a fraction of the price.

5 door Dynamic SD4, Orkney Grey, 20" shadow alloys, contast and pano roof, tints and 40 plus grand lighter!
