Windscreen Question - Is this normal?

It seems like it should be on the passenger side, not the driver side - what side of the car is the missing patch for you guys?

My car is RHD and the cut out is on the left of the mirror. I'm certain it doesn't matter if the cut out is on either side it should work regardless

Yup, all Aussie Evoques have the attenuating glass as standard. It'll shine a purplish colour in the sun when looking at your car from the outside.
It's for the e-tags, unless you don't want a stupid grey lump stuck on your window and just hold yours up to your panoramic roof like I do?!

Mine doesn't look purplish color when looking from the outside. But I checked with TOPIx and it has "INFRA RED REFLECTIVE WNDSCRN" so, is it the same screen as the Australian spec? Mine is UK spec.

I can't stand that they cut out a piece of tint there. Drives my OCD mad.
